Emergency Dental Care
Dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly, and prompt dental care can help relieve discomfort and prevent a problem from becoming more serious.
At Monbulk & Emerald Family Dental Care, we aim to provide timely appointments for patients experiencing a dental emergency. If you are experiencing pain, swelling, injury or another unexpected dental problem, contact our friendly team as soon as possible so we can assess your symptoms and determine the most appropriate care.
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Contact us as soon as possible and let our team know what has happened. We may ask you a few questions about your symptoms so we can determine how urgently you need to be seen.
If you have a knocked-out permanent tooth, seek dental care immediately. Handle the tooth carefully by the crown rather than the root and avoid touching or cleaning the root surface. If possible, keep the tooth moist while making your way to a dentist.
For facial trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, significant swelling that is affecting your breathing or swallowing, or another serious medical emergency, seek immediate medical attention or call 000.
If you're unsure whether your dental problem is an emergency, contact our team. We are happy to help you determine the next appropriate step.
